The hottest Coach in Amercia from a Mid Major seems to be Coach Ben Jacobson, Almost every school with a open spot seems to be the hot rumor, well other then Iowa City. There are many other so called BIG NAME coaches, but there making $2million a year and you would have to offer near $4 million for those names. But a coach from UNI which is making $200,000 you could steal with a $800,000 or $1 million offer which in the world of coaching would be cheap. But lets say Iowa offered you a $800,000 7 year deal vs the $200,00 you make now. You are a god in Cedar Falls, its would take 5 years of very bad losing basketball before Panther Nation would scream that you need to be fired. Outside of the Cedar Valley would anyone know your name? Sure some would but not like the press a Coach like Iowa City is. Ask your old Friend Coach Mac was the money worth it? Half the state hates him the other half could careless. You put money and Ames over your dream job in Iowa City. Maybe the only thing that COach MAC got postive out of the move was his oldest was able to play Basketball in Ames and be part of a great dual.
